The ReePower™/backup function needs to charge the first time it is in use. You need to ride the bike for 5-10 minutes for it to be fully charged. When it is charged it will flash for a few minutes after you stop. If you use your bicycle every day, the ReePower™ will work all the time. However, if your bicycle is idle for a week, you need to cycle a short distance for it to charge again.
